Contracts

2011 Central Collective Agreement

  • Highlights of 2011 Central Agreement
  • Monetary Issues: Salary, Premiums, Shift Differential, Benefits, Vacation
  • Committees, Professional Responsibility/Workload Issues
  • Leaves: Maternity/Parental, Bereavement, Personal, Jury, Union.

Local Collective Agreement

  • Non-monetary Issues: Scheduling, Vacation Scheduling, Part-time Commitment, Local Committee Structure

Grievance Process

  • The union and the hospital agree to use the grievance process to resolve disputes or disagreements in the interpretation of our contract. There is nothing to fear if you cannot resolve a situation on your own. Let your manager know that you disagree and that you will be filing a grievance. Do not delay - the timelines are very strict.

  • Print or Email the Fact Sheet below and include copies of all relevant information to defend your grievance (pay stub; schedules; letters)

Occupational Health & Safety

  • The Occupational Health and Safety Act is the most powerful legislation to promote safe workplaces. Notify the local of any unsafe or hazardous situations.
  • If you are injured in the workplace, or require assistance for a non-work related illness/disability: Contact the Local 70 Health and Safety Rep at your site or leave a message for the Executive Rep at (905) 318-5773 (voicemail # 2)

Violence in the Workplace

  • You have a right to work in an environment free from violence and bullying. Speak up - consult with your ONA local reps to assist in these types of situations.
