CENSURE UPDATE:

  • November 2009 HHS was censured by the ONA Board of Directors after Local 70 memberhip voted overwhelmingly to request this action

  • April 2010: Local 70 Executive, ONA staff, HHS senior management are meeting regularly to discuss the censure concerns.  Progress is slow, we have a mutual desire to develop some sustainable changes that will assist us in moving forward in a positive direction.

ONA LOCAL 70 ARBITRATION AWARD - ONA Wins Layoff Rights vs Reassignment
We are pleased to announce that for the 8th time ONA has successfully challenged a hospital on this issue and the arbitrator found that the HHS improperly reassigned our members and must provide layoff rights. Thanks to the nurses who stood up for those rights.  We are meeting with the hospital to determine next steps.
